The SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, located on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, is 187 feet tall, has 42 glass-enclosed, temperature controlled gondolas and operates year round. The SkyWheel is the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States.

A quiet, and surprisingly green, escape from the otherwise bustling beach, the park provides educational opportunities, a nature trail and some of the best surf fishing South Carolina has to offer as well as stunning ocean views and another great fishing spot on Myrtle Beach pier.

The middle section, from Plyler Park to the former site of Myrtle Beach Pavilion, has "a carnival atmosphere accompanied by restaurants, bars and gift shops". The Southern Promenade, from the former Pavilion to 2nd Avenue Pier, city officials describe as a "meandering oceanfront park" with benches and landscaping.
